- Baggage X-ray at every station — all bags are scanned at the security checkpoint before entry. Allow 2–3 extra minutes at busy stations.
- Women-only coaches — the first coach of every train is reserved for women. Clearly marked. Male passengers should use other coaches.
- Peak hours are very crowded — avoid 08:00–10:00 and 17:00–20:00 on weekdays if you can. Trains run reliably but are packed during rush hours.
- Smart Card is essential — buy it on your first visit. The discount and time saving pay back the deposit within a day of travel. Available at any station customer care centre.

- Operating hours — the metro runs approximately 06:00 to 22:00–23:00. Always check the last train time if travelling late.

Which station is closest to Hawa Mahal and the old Jaipur?
Chandpole station (northern terminus of the Pink Line) is the nearest metro station to the walled city. Hawa Mahal is about 1.5 km from Chandpole — a short auto-rickshaw ride. Badi Chaupar station is literally inside the walled city and is the closest to Hawa Mahal (about 500 metres walk).
How do I get from Jaipur Railway Station to the metro?
Jaipur Junction (main railway station) is served by the metro's Railway Station station on the Pink Line. The metro station is within walking distance of the main railway station building (follow the JMRC signs).
Does Jaipur Metro go to Amber Fort?
No — Amber Fort is about 11 km north of the city centre and not on the metro. Take an auto-rickshaw or hire a taxi from Chandpole station (the northernmost metro station) to reach Amber Fort — about 20–30 minutes by road.
